Fall fit Updates FAQ
How have Outerwear Profiles been updated for Fall 2025?We’ve split outerwear into two distinct profile groups:
- Group 1 – No Profile Changes:
Includes the Field Jacket, Hybrid Utility Jacket, Puffer, Town Jacket, Bomber Jacket, and Trucker Jacket.
These styles use the same fit profile as in previous seasons. - Group 2 – Updated Profile with Adjustments:
Includes the Hybrid Blazer, Vest Front Blazer, Quilted Blazer, Shirt Jacket, Quilted Shirt Jacket, Stand Collar Hybrid Blazer, and Convertible Quilted Hybrid Blazer.
These now feature a +/- 2 waist/hip adjustment and a sleeve fit adjustment for improved customization.
What’s the difference between Outerwear Group 1 and Group 2?- Group 1 styles have a straighter fit and are generally shorter in length. They do not include any sleeve or waist/hip adjustments.
- Group 2 styles offer more fit flexibility while maintaining their intended style lines. These styles now include a waist/hip and sleeve fit adjustment.
How do I reorder a Shirt Jacket for a client with a previously confirmed fit?- Review the tear sheet to confirm
the original chest and outseam measurements.
b. In Outerwear Group 2, select “Add Profile”.
c. Answer the TAPE questions for layering preference.
d. Adjust the profile by:- Matching the original chest measurement
- Setting Waist/Hip Adjustment to 0
- Setting Sleeve Fit to Standard
How do I order the Relaxed Chino fit shown in the Key Look?- You will be prompted to create a new Relaxed Chino profile when customizing this style.
- The profile recommended by TAPE is pre-set to match the fit in the Key Look.
- To achieve the intended styling, save the profile without making any changes.
Is the fit of the Fashion Vest different from the Suiting Vest?- No, both use the same product profile and fit.
- In 2025, both were updated for an improved fit through the neck and shoulders.
- Group 1 – No Profile Changes:
-
Bomber Jacket
Introducing the redesigned J.Hilburn Bomber Jacket. The new design emphasizes a streamlined shoulder to provide your client with an improved range of motion and ease of fit. Easily place his order using his confirmed outerwear profile with no need to change the TAPE recommended sleeve outseam.
Creating Fit
- The Bomber jacket is associated with the outerwear jacket group 1 profile. The Fit Quiz that corresponds to the outerwear jacket profile will provide recommendations based on the intended fit of the Bomber Jacket.
- It is important to note that due to the knit cuff feature of the bomber jacket, ½ of extra length is needed beyond the T.A.P.E. recommendation for outerwear jacket sleeve outseams. The good news is that this extra 1/2″ is automatically added to your Client’s Bomber Jacket sleeve at the factory. Therefore it is not necessary to adjust your Client’s confirmed outerwear jacket sleeve length.
Interior Construction
Alterations
Due to the construction and fabric of the Bomber jacket it is not possible to alter the fit by a tailor.

Fall 2025 Outerwear Updates
This Fall we will be launch several fit updates for Outerwear Jackets, Suiting and Fashion vest and the relaxed Chino. In the following short presentation I will cover each of these updates.
Outwear Profiles
When creating a new client T.A.P.E. automatically creates and outwear vest profile. We recommend confirming your clients specific vest preferences using the product fit quiz.

Outerwear Vest Profile
Profile based on Client preference.

Vest Length Tool Tip
Utilize tool tip to confirm vest length.

Tailored Outwear is designed to easily coordinate with the fit our your Client’s favorite sportcoat. For all the details follow the link bellow.
An outwear raincoat/ Mac profile is automatically created for a new client. Utilize the product fit quiz to customize your Client’s raincoat preference.

Raincoat Fit Quiz

When entering a new Client, T.A.P.E. automatically creates an Outwear jacket group 1 profile. Group 1 is used to order the Field Jacket, Hybrid Utility Jacket, Puffer, Town Jacket, Bomber Jacket, and Trucker Jacket. Group 1 styles have a straighter fit. They do not include any sleeve or waist/hip adjustments.
Outerwear Jacket Group 1 Fit Quiz

Outerwear Jacket Profile
Depending on Client fit preference the chest size of his outerwear jacket may be larger than his core measurement. Sleeve Outseam will always be 0.50″ shorter than the core measurement sleeve length.
Tool Tip

Utilize the length toll tip to compare finished length measurements on all styles.
Outerwear Group 2 is used for Hybrid Blazer, Vest Front Blazer, Quilted Shirt jacket, Stand Collar Hybrid Blazer, Convertible Quilted Blazer. All styles supported by this profile are available with three sleeve fits and a waist/hip adjustment.
When placing an order for one of the styles in Group 2, the stylist will be prompted to create a new profile. There are two Preference questions to confirm your client’s length preference and his layering preference, either over a heavy sweater or over a shirt.

Next TAPE will create your client’s profile recommendation. At the top, you will see the chest measurement, which is the ordered jacket measurement. Next is the waist/hip adjustment for the shirt jacket group and the Blazer group. Since these two jacket groups are shaped differently, the recommendation for the waist/hip adjustment may not be the same. Each recommendation is calculated differently based on the corresponding pattern and intended fit of each style.
Sleeve Fit is also calculated independently for shirt jackets and blazers and may vary for each group.

Tooltips are provided for all finished measurements.
