We update the Agreement annually to stay current with new laws, business changes, and market trends. The J.Hilburn Stylist Agreement was updated on April 1, 2024 and on August 1, 2024. Please read below for a summary of those changes. April 2024 Updates to Wording:
Changes made to August 2023 Stylist Agreement
Section 2.10 – Death or Incapacity – updated language clarifies the process by which a Personal Stylist’s J.Hilburn business may be transferred to a beneficiary upon death or incapacity.
Section 3.4 – Income Claims – updated language to reflect the current regulations regarding the prohibitive claims to prospective stylists on future earnings, earnings potential, etc.
Section 3.5.1 – General Advertising Policies – updated language clarifies J.Hilburn’s advertising policies and Stylists’ responsibilities regarding the use of J.Hiburn’s intellectual property.
Section 3.5.2 – Use of J.Hilburn Trademarks – updated language clarifies Stylists’ rights regarding the use of J.Hilburn trademarks, service marks, copyrights, and related intellectual property and proprietary rights.
Section 3.5.8 – Income Representations – updated language to reflect the current regulations regarding the strict prohibition of income representations.
Section 3.10 – Conflicts of Interest / Non-Solicitation – updated language clarifies J.Hilburn’s policies regarding conflicts of interest.
April 2024 Additions:
Section 3.2 – Stylist Code of Ethics – New bullet point added – Guidelines for conduct if a Personal Stylist has a corporate sale for a Client with an existing J.Hilburn Stylist.
Section 3.6 – Authorization to Use Name and Likeness – Guidelines for the use of a Stylist’s name and likeness for publicity materials.
Section 7.5 – Sales Tax – Sales tax policy for products and services sold to Stylists.
Section 10.3 – Arbitration – Guidelines regarding retroactive legal claims and class action litigation.
Section 12.1 – Notice – Guidelines for communication / legal notice.
