  • Update on $99 New Stylist Shirt Program – Expanded Swatch Selection

This is to inform you about an important update regarding the $99 Shirt Program for New Stylists. As we continue this program through 2024 and beyond, we have made some changes to enhance the offering for our New Stylists.

Effective immediately, we are excited to announce that the swatch selection available for the $99 Shirt Program has been expanded from the original 6 swatches offered in 2023 to now include 7 Essential Shirting Swatches, all available for the same $99 price (before options).

As a reminder, the New Stylist $99 shirt promotion is designed to help New Stylists activate their business by offering a select group of Essential Swatches at a discounted price for a limited time. This promotion includes the month they enroll plus the next two months.

The newly added swatches are as follows:

    • N53
    • NI60
    • CA11
    • X55
    • NI53
    • S68

These additional options aim to provide our New Stylists with more choices when crafting their Client’s new shirt.

Moving forward, any Stylists who joined J.Hilburn after February 15, 2024, will automatically receive these 7 swatches as part of their initial kit. For those Stylists who joined before February 15, 2024, and are still eligible to sell the $99 Essential Shirts, the new swatches are currently included in their full sales toolbox.

If you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this update, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at StylistCare@jhilburn.com. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

At J.Hilburn we embrace technology as part of the stylist tool box. With that in mind we created J.Hilburn Virtually measured, our proprietary App which digitally scans your client from the comfort of his home using his cell phone.

    Table of Contents

    Why Scan?

The Virtually Measuring App  is one of the three measuring methods we have at J.hilburn along with T.A.P.E 2.0 and manual measuring. Which measurement method is best depends on many factors.

The VMA is a great tool to use with remote Client’s. Utilize it together with T.A.P.E. 2.0 to get the most accurate measurements at a distance

Use the VMA to update measurements for an existing client. When reviewing the scan you can chose which measurements to update and which to leave the same.

Connecting Your Client to the App

Any J.Hilburn client can use the app to scan himself. Utilize the app to measure a new client or confirm measurements for an existing Client

Send your client the app thru his Green Room Homepage using the Share Measuring App button.

You will be prompted to share by email or text message. View Email Here  The Text message option will text your Client a link to download the app.

Troubleshooting Client Challenges with the VMA

This error is most likely occurring because your client has not utilized the Activation Email. After verifying his email in the sign up process, the client must exit the app and open his inbox to find the J.Hilburn activation email. Once clicking “Activate” within the email he will be redirected to the app and prompted to enter his password. After entering his password, he is ready to begin the scan process.

Confirm that your Client is using the same email for the VMA as he is using for his Green Room. Sharing the app thru Green Room auto-populates the correct email in the app for him. However it is still possible for you Client to change his email within the app causing a mismatch with Green room preventing the scan from importing.

Most likely your client is attempting to “Log In” instead of “Sign up”. Remind him that his J.Hilburn.com account is different from his Virtual Measuring App account and that he will need to create a new account for the app.

    Scanned Measurements

You can view your Client’s scanned measurements by clicking EDIT next to his core measurements on his measurement and fit page. There will be a Load Virtual Scan button on his core measurement page. After clicking the button his scan measurements will be shown in yellow.

To update your Client’s core measurements with the scan measurements, utilize the toggles to update each exisiting measurement point where needed. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to save any changes you have made.

Once you client has scanned, his new scan will pop up on your Green room hompage in the VMA widget.

J.Hilburn reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, modify or suspend this Rewards Trip or the participation thereof for any or all Stylists at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason, including fraud, fabrication or any other causes that corrupt the integrity of this Rewards Trip and achievement of the minimum thresholds of the Mentor Points and Bonus Points.

The 2023 Rewards Trip is categorized as taxable income and will be reflected in your 1099 in 2023.

A: If there are COVID protocols, they will be announced in 2023 prior to the trip.

  • How to Make Your ABC List

The first step in launching your J.Hilburn business successfully is creating your Potential Client List. Sure, getting off to a good start includes starting your training, learning how to measure and fit your Clients, getting familiar with the suite of technology tools and marketing your new business.

But the most important element of a successful J.Hilburn business is making appointments with Clients.

Trying to launch a successful J.Hilburn business without a Client list would be like starting to build a house without building materials. Without Clients you can’t conduct appointments, which is the only way to get comfortable and have fun with styling, and of course start earning income! So, focus on your sales outreaches to make appointments immediately.

The faster and bigger you grow your Client list, the faster you’ll also:

    • Start placing orders
    • Receive referrals from happy Clients
    • Grow your income
    • Build brand awareness within your network
    • Meet potential new Stylists through your Clients

Good news: You already know a lot of great potential Clients for your J.Hilburn business—you simply may not realize it yet! Making a written Potential Client List, whether you do this on paper or in an Excel spreadsheet, is a best practice for all new Stylists. We also have a fillable/printable Potential Client List PDF template that you can download, fill out, and print—we recommend printing 5-10 copies of the template so you’ll have room for all your names.

Your first Clients will be on this list, and you will continue adding new names for outreach over time. As you gain experience, you will sell virtually to men who live in different states, so make sure you include contacts who don’t live near you in addition to those who do.

We suggest making a list with 3 columns, categorizing each potential Client based on how well you know each person. List every name you can think of, and don’t limit yourself to men! The women you know can put you in touch with the men in their lives, so include them in your columns as well.

Your A List – Reach out NOW

Your A List men are those you know and who know you on a first-name basis, regardless of whether or not they live in your city or on the other side of the country. If you called one of these men today and said, “Hi, John, it’s Diane,” he’d respond with something along the lines of, “Hi, Diane, it’s nice to hear from you.” That’s the level of personal familiarity and ease we’re talking about.

Your B List – Reach out NEXT

Your B List consists of men you know of, but who may not know you. You may be connected through mutual friends or colleagues, or perhaps their children attend the same school as yours but in different grades. B List connections may also be prominent members of your community who you recognize. A conversation with a man from your B List will require you to reference how you know of him.

    For example:

    • “Hi, John! We haven’t met, but we have a mutual friend—our attorney Ben Johnston.”
    • “Hi, John! You don’t know me, but I know you’re a prominent realtor in Scarsdale, where I live.”
    • “Hi, John! My name is Steve. You don’t know me, but our children go to the same high school.”

Your C List – Reach out LATER

Your C List names are your “cold” contacts. They don’t know you and you don’t know them, and you don’t have a natural connection through another person or organization you can reference. Though you have no affiliation with them yet, you believe they would be wonderful customers for your J.Hilburn business. These are your cold leads, but they are worth pursuing as you get into the business more.

Who Do You Know and Where Do You Start to Build Your List?

It can be hard to remember everyone you’ve ever met! Here are a few suggestions to help you add more names to your initial list:

    • Your phone contacts
    • Your holiday card list
    • School/church/club directories
    • Current and past business contacts
    • Current and past coworkers
    • Your spouse’s friends and coworkers
    • Social media connections
    • Professional contacts

The acronym FRANK can also help jog your memory when creating your ABC List:

    F = Friends

    R = Relatives

A = Acquaintances (including friends of friends)

    N = Neighbors

K = Kid/Kennel connections (parents, teachers, coaches, tutors, vet staff, groomers)

Start Making Your First Appointments with Your Inner Circle

Make your first 5 – 10 appointments with your “inner circle” contacts: men on your A List who you have the strongest relationships with, and who live close enough to you that it’s convenient to meet with them in person. Focus on local contacts for your first few appointments.

Then Expand Outward to Your Wider Network

Make your list as large as you can by thinking about all the people you know. The most successful Stylists acquire 50 – 100+ purchasing Clients in their first year in business (1-2 per week on average), so break this goal down to a monthly or weekly target for the number of new Clients you need to get there.

    Be Consistent & Persistent

50 – 100 new Clients in your first year
    =
5-10 new Clients per month, or 1-2 new Clients per week, on average
