Operations Update: Important Update on Pricing

We’re pleased to share an important update following our earlier communications regarding pricing. After careful review, we have finalized a price increase of just over 10%—a much better outcome than the initial 20% estimate. This is good news and reflects our commitment to balancing the health of the business with your ability to drive sales and deliver value to Clients.

The new pricing will go into effect Monday, September 22, at 8:00 AM CST.

As you’ll recall, our first adjustment back in April was tied to the initial round of tariffs. A second wave of tariffs has since gone into effect, creating additional cost pressures. While these new costs began impacting us on August 7, we made the decision to absorb them for several weeks as we reviewed every option to minimize the impact to you and your Clients.

That said, we want to emphasize that we have been very intentional in how this was approached.

Specifically, we:

  • Reviewed every category to identify where we can minimize the increase.
  • Explored operational efficiencies to help offset costs wherever possible.
  • Prepared clear messaging and tools so you can feel confident explaining the value we deliver and why this step is essential.

Understanding the Impact of New Tariffs

We want to keep you informed about changes that affect how we deliver high-quality products. Recently, the U.S. government introduced new tariffs on imports from Vietnam (20%) and Thailand (19%). These tariffs now apply to every shipment coming into the country.

What this means for our business is that every product we bring in is now subject to duties and taxes, regardless of order size or shipping method. This has increased the overall cost of goods and created additional pressure on our supply chain.

Despite these changes, we remain committed to minimizing the impact on you by working closely with our suppliers, exploring efficiencies, and continuing to provide exceptional value and service.

Commitment to Quality & Consistency

We’re not willing to compromise on fabric quality, craftsmanship, or fit in order to offset these new costs.

Rather than cutting corners, we’ve chosen to adjust prices so we can maintain the same standard of product our Clients expect.

Market-Wide Impact

These policy changes are affecting the entire apparel industry, not just us.

Many brands are taking similar steps to cover tariff-related increases, but we remain committed to keeping our prices as competitive and fair as possible.

Shifting the Conversation: From Cost to Value

With the new tariffs impacting pricing, it’s essential to shift the conversation focus from cost to value.  When discussing these changes with Clients, focus on what sets J.Hilburn apart:

  • Personal Service– A tailored experience they won’t find off the rack.
  • Quality Construction & Fit– Products designed to last and made uniquely for them.

  • Confidence & Style– Helping Clients look and feel their very best.

This is a moment to reaffirm why Clients choose J.Hilburn—not just for the product, but for the partnership and service you provide.
